Upon reading the article published by Sky News dated 16 February 2015: Cyber Criminals Steal £195m From Global Banks, Private Investigator Coventry shares information on how to combat cyber attacks and fraud cases.

According to Sky News article, dated 16 February 2015: http://news.sky.com/story/1428403/cyber-criminals-steal-195m-from-global-banks, Cyber criminals steal £195 from global banks, a Security firm found out that a group of hackers from Ukraine, China, Russia and parts of Europe-were behind the ongoing attacks. The Kaspersky lab, described how the Criminals first gained access to a bank by infecting an employee's computer through a spear phishing email - a targeted message that resembles a genuine source; infects the machine with a malware that Kaspersky called "carbanak". The cyber robbers, understand the system adequately with a remote surveillance of a network - that enables them study the screens of bank staff who handle cash transfers, which they apply to transfer cash from the bank to their own accounts. Sergey Golovanov, Principal security researcher at Kaspersky Lab's Global Research and analysis Team, said: "The attackers didn't even need to hack into the bank's services: once they got into the network, they learned how to hide their malicious plot behind legitimate actions." The Director of the Interpol Digital crime centre, Sanjay Virmani, added: "These attacks again underline the fact that Criminals will exploit any vulnerability in any system. It also highlights the fact that no sector can consider itself immune to attack and must constantly address their security procedures." The criminal gang took between two to four months to steal up to £6.5m per month with a target of 100 banks and financial institutions in around 30 countries with the majority in Russia.
